MILOS Story

I started XTRA MEDIUM back in October 2022, the same year I graduated from Bishop Allen Academy. One random night in a park with our friend group, the “Goblins,” someone asked, “If XTRA MEDIUM was a size, where would it land on a graph?” That joke became an idea, and later that night I ordered a screen-printing kit from amazon and got to work.

I began making pieces out of my basement, teaching myself everything, and eventually applied to Toronto Metropolitan University for fashion. I got in with one of the worst portfolios ever, I hated the first year, didn't get the classes I wanted so I was learning as much as I could on my own. By second yearI was all in, completely addicted. I called dozens of bespoke as well as tailor shops until one, Sebastian Richard, agreed to teach me his craft. Between that mentorship and school, I built a strong foundation in technical garment construction and fashion design that still shapes XTRA MEDIUM today.

Jonathan’s Story

Jonny joined XTRA MEDIUM in August 2023, but his love for fashion started much earlier. In high school, he also applied to TMU for fashion and got accepted, but faced a tough choice between two dreams: going to fashion school or playing university football.

He chose to play varsity football at UOfT, supported by an athletic scholarship. Balancing the demands of being a student-athlete with the drive to design and create garments would be difficult on his own and that’s exactly why joining with Lucas at XTRA MEDIUM became a perfect opportunity. Since joining his role at XTRA MEDIUM mainly specializes in construction.The Team Environment provides a way to chase both football and fashion at once well. 

Everything we make is cut and sewn by us for now, no factory, no shortcuts. Just two friends building something real, one piece at a time.
